The November Court of Honor is always an important troop meeting to attend. There will be many, many merit badges, a number of advancements, and some special awards. As mentioned below,  you are also encouraged to attend to choose a neighborhood for luminaria.  It seems appropriate that during our main fundraiser for the year it is also time for another important annual event...

It is recharter time.  This is the time of year when every scout needs to decide if they are continuing in 2013 as a member of our Troop.  Occoneechee Council is wanting us to complete rechartering by the beginning of January, which means we need to know who is continuing, and collect all registration fees prior to then,

We will begin taking recharter fees at the Court of Honor this Wednesday.  The deadline to recharter with us is December 12th.  Fees will only be collected on November 14, December 5 and December 12th.  Order of the Arrow members should be prepared to pay their membership dues when they recharter with the troop. Popcorn money may be used for rechartering. No commitment by a scout by December 12th will be interpreted that they do not wish to continue with the troop next year.

Recharter fees this year are as follows: 

$60 without Boys Life magazine 

$72 with Boys Life.  

OA dues is set by the Lodge and is currently $10 per year.  

These fees have not increased in several years because our fundraising has continued to be good, and because the council hasn't raised fees per scout either. It is impossible to know how long this can continue, but at this point, fees are not going to be raised.
