Preparations for the December 2014 Luminaria service project have already begun.  Information about the Luminaria project can be found on our troop webpage under Home Button and then under Fundraising Button.

If you are a troop parent and do not know how to best serve our troop, the Luminaria Program is an excellent place to start.  This fundraising effort directly underwrites our troop activities and affords you the chance to get to know all the scouts and their families.  The monies collected by the scouts serve to support our troop budget.  We service 16 neighborhoods, making and delivering almost 10,000 luminarias.  These neighbhorhoods include:

Battery
Highland Oaks
Brookstone East
Brookstone West
Cotswold
Preston Grande
Preston Village and Preston Wynds
The Reserve
Riggsbee Farm
Windermere
Somerset/Georgetown Village
Fernwood/Westchester Woods/ Forest Creek

We have condensed our luminaria program to four mandatory events this year.  If your scout is unable to make ANY of the below asterisked events they MUST email me (emzboung@att.net) to get an alternate responsibility (i.e. stamping 500 envelopes or delivering on Christmas Eve emergency kits etc).  Any scouts who do not participate fully in this fundraising activity will not be able to attend future trips until they make up the service time.

As Angela and I take over the helm this year (Thanks Aults-you did an awesome job the last two years!)  I've noticed we are a unique troop.  OUR scouts do 90% of the work with this fundraiser.  Lots of other troops run their luminaria fundraiser with 90% adult help.   You should be proud!  So here is to a great fundraiser this year.

I know this can be a confusing process, so please ask questions.  Details of what each of these activities are will be shared at the time of the events, or a little bit before, so that the scouts can prepare themselves.
