On February 8, 2015 BSA will celebrate its 105 anniversary! It was on that day that William D. Boyce incorporated the Boy Scouts of America under the laws of the District of Columbia. Later on June 21 representatives from national organizations for boys met in New York to develop organization plans. Founders include: - William D. Boyce, incorporator
- Colin H. Livingstone, president
- Daniel Carter Beard, national Scout commissioner
- Ernest Thompson Seton, Chief Scout
- James E. West, Chief Scout Executive
- President William Howard Taft, honorary president
- Former President Theodore Roosevelt, honorary vice president and Chief Scout Citizen
The first Eagle Scout award was earned by Arthur Eldred on August 12, 1912.
This year it also coincides with Scout Sunday which was first celebrated in 1914.
