Swim Tests

It was a great weekend to be camping!  I am looking forward to the photos and the recap from the trip.
But we are already thinking of the week ahead...

We have a troop meeting this week Wednesday, May 1, at 7:30 at the Parish Center.

Then we have swim tests at Triangle Aquatic Center behind the Cary Town Center Mall from 2 to 3pm. I have attached the current list of people who have signed up below. There are still MANY openings.

Remember, there are several reasons we are doing this this test:

a) streamline the time it will take to get boats in the water at our Aquatics campout at the end of May.
b) pre-certify swimming status for Durant and Raven Knob summer camps
c) certify swimming level for those attending Jamboree this summer
d) get swimming sign-offs

For A & B above, the swim test this weekend is not required, but strongly encouraged.
For C above, if a jambo participant does not certify this weekend, he will need to work with his Jambo troop to find other arrangements for certification in May. Taking the swim test at Jambo is NOT an option.
For D above, if you want to work on a tenderfoot/2nd class/1st class sign off, come prepared (there will be no teaching, you will do or do not) for the skill, with the supplies you need, and contact another ASM on the list (not me) to ensure someone will be able to observe and sign-off your requirements. You will also need your book. I would advise planning to stay the entire hour, in order to have space and time to complete this. The next opportunity will be after the next board of review at the aquatics campout, unless you make arrangements on your own.

Thank you to the adults who have agree to help during this event.

There is still time to sign-up online at sign-up genius:
