In 2015 Scouts performed 56,978 service hours of activities in National Park sites. That is a lot of service hours and that is just the hours that were actually reported. This is real savings to the National Park service. Using minimum wage of $7.25 that a savings of $413,090.50 for just 2015 alone. Since the scouts and the National Park Service have a very long history together over time this number is much higher. Anyone ever ask you what is scouting's value? This is just one example. |
