There is always something great going on at Troop 212! Our next two meetings will continue this trend, and I wanted all to be aware, since there are some opportunities for information, education, fun, and advancement. Wednesday, May 7, 7:30pm at the Parish Center We will be joined by two officers from the Town of Cary Police Department. One will be Tim Hageter, an Eagle Scout from our troop, and son of current leader Barry Hageter. He will be joined by officer Grant Anderson, who will lead a discussion on drug use and abuse. This will cover a portion of a 2nd class requirement for scouts. This should be a great meeting, and scouts should plan to attend Wednesday, May 13, 7:30pm at TRIANGLE AQUATIC CENTER The PLC will go first, but all scouts will take their BSA swim test, or their beginner test. Who should attend? Anyone (REGISTERED ADULTS TOO!!) going to summer camp, at Durant or Raven Knob Anyone planning or thinking of going to the Aquatics Campout at the end of May (REGISTERED ADULTS TOO!) Anyone who might go to any other potential aquatics event we might plan for next year (REGISTERED ADULTS TOO!) That is almost everyone in the troop. (There will be some conflicts with some having Eagle meetings) When swim tests are complete for the PLC, they will have a PLC meeting to plan the last meetings in May I will need help from adult leadership to help advise during this meeting. When all swim tests are done, scouts who ARE PREPARED for 1st/2nd class and tenderfoot aquatics requirements might have an opportunity for sign-offs. Wednesday, May 13, 7pm, DEBOR Any parent who does not need to shuttle kids to the TAC should consider helping at this month’s DEBOR District Eagle Boards of Review). We have up to 5 scouts either having their Final Board of Proposal at this time, so district will need help! Thank you! Mr. Bowman |
